Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is a Government agency constituted under Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act,1985. Its objective is to enhance the export of scheduled products by providing financial assistance, statistical information and implementing applicable standards.

Exporters of scheduled products must register with APEDA within one month of commencing the export. This is a life-time registration unless cancelled by the concerned authorities. The Central Government is the sole authority to approve this license.
